QIHM EP 16 Spoilers

1 year later.

Sukyeong was talking to Heejin and Heejin was getting her hair done… She has a very busy career life now. She got a call from the pd to meet him. He tells her that he has a script for her and gets her to read it. It’s called Queen Inhyun Man. She looks through it in the car… She sees the name Kim Boongdo, but doesn’t seem to know him.

Back to Joseon,… BD is walking and a minister sees him. The minister sends people after BD as he tries to escape. The minister goes to BD’s residence to investigate and sees the letter he wrote. The minister reports to the King. The King of course isn’t shocked because BD arranged it with him back then. The minister suspects that something was amiss.

Back to 2012, Heejin is drinking as she read through the script, saying that it’s interesting and wondering who BD is since she never knew his existence in history.

Joseon, BD hides in the temple and then talks to a monk.. However, as he did that, he got chased by people again. BD tries to escape the big group of men and manages to tie quite a few of them. He then looked at the remaining people, which were already terrified of him…

HJ has a new hair color, and is in the studio recording for the narration of the documentary..

She finishes the recording and then goes and have a drink with DM. DM seems to be chasing HJ again…

As HJ read through her narration script, she reads the letter boongdo wrote. It was thought by many that he wrote it to the Queen.. HJ looked confused..

HJ is at the palace now filming. She looks around and she starts to realize something…

Back in Joseon, BD was in the same palace grounds… But being tied up. So they were in the same palace grounds, but in different times.

HJ starts to cough and all and she starts to feel something at her chest..

She starts mentioning BD, and then cries… The PD asks her what is wrong, but she herself doesn’t know. She looks around the palace.

BD is in jail and he recaps to the words he had with the King, that he would not be found in Joseon anymore..

Heejin is on the way home… SK calls her and asks about her… as she heard the news about HJ crying on the set and all. HJ says she’s fine and she didn’t know what happened either. Back in Joseon, BD was sitting in the jail… holding the phone HJ bought for him… and he was wearing the tie she gave him. He recaps to HJ putting the tie on for him and that whole scene…

He tries to use his tie to hang himself..

Meanwhile, Heejin was driving in the nights of 2012… And she suddenly started to cry again.

BD was also crying as he tried to hang himself… HJ then continues crying, asking herself why she’s crying and all.. over and over.. and then she feels pain and holds her head in pain (THEY ARE SO CONNECTED LOL!)

She remembers…

SHE RINGS HIM IMMEDIATELY… AND IT MANAGED TO REACH BD…

Lol, the phone call ringed in Joseon… In the jail, right below him, as he tried to hang himself.

Heejin leaves the car … it was pouring.. She starts to cry emotionally in the rain T___T

She remembers the player… then she thinks who the player is… then she realises it’s KBD… she remembers all their memories…

She leans by the car in the rain, crying…

She goes to the studio, drenched… She asked for the recording that she did to be shown to her… She goes through the recording and plays at the point about BD’s letter… She thinks back to how everyone was speculating who the letter was for… as the letter was read, she cries… and then… someone opens the door.. and of course because she was crying, she tells the person to wait……. BD appears in his suit… as he opened the door… He talks holding his phone.. asking her why she didn’t pick his call (okay I need a valid explanation?) omg it’s so dark in the room… of course Heejin is shocked….

Flashback to before he died… as he cried… and then he looks down to see a call from Heejin.

(Hmm how did you keep the battery alive for a year, KBD? unless you offed it but….)

He then struggled to free himself to get the call.. and he fell to the ground(HAHAH YOU DIDN’T PLAN TO DIE RIGHT, or why is it so lose!)

He then grabbed the phone and tries to pick it…

Then… 2012.. (WHAT?! the phone is the connection? *Not convinced* Writer i need something better…) He was lying on the floor ourside the palace… He kept saying hello into the phone, happily, laughing as he said it.

Back to now..

BD walks towards HJ.. and HJ also goes to him and touches his face..

She asks if he was a real person… and if he was really back.. HJ had tears in her eyes of course. BD then looks at the recording she was watching and asks what it was… HJ holds his face and turns it for him to look at her, asking him where has he been for the whole time. BD then holds her and strokes her hair, wiping her tears away. He says he knows the use of the necktie and HJ pulls him with his necktie and they kiss..

The end.

WTF i hate the ending This is WHAT!??!?! omg writer blacklisted.

  1. OMG! Happy ending! Happy ending! Thanks in advance for the spoilers redpinkboxes!

  2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hahaha… HE’s back?

  3. well everyone wanted a happy ending and I guess this is it considering the screen-time of 45min -_- wat else could they have done..shouldve prob stopped at 15

  4. Maybe we will have the explaination in 2 special eps next week? :”<~

  5. redpinkboxes… i second you
this is… terrible… i’ll just unwatch ep 15 (though that was ABSOLUTELY beautiful) and just end my memory of QIHM at ep 14… where is my talisman to burn???? (to erase memories)

ms. writer… i hate you!! oh no you did NOT just do that to my drama-love!!!!

  6. YAH…SIGH…I was a little disppointed with the ending too……I had high hopes after so many good episodes the writer gave us…………………..:(

  7. Weird ending isn’t it. It fell FLAT?

  8. It’s not just the phone… BD practically made a wish with the letter before burning the talisman. Because HJ remembered, there was a connection between them…. the only thing that connected the two worlds was the telefoon … so maybe it reacted with their love… (yeah I now… just trying to make it better :P)

  9. (sorry for my bad English first) In my opinion, maybe when the phone rang in Joseon, HeeJin’s love made it work like YW’s love did to the talisman.

  10. Thank you very much for that detailed word for word Drama. I know it was pain to go thru a roller coaster w/ such diversity & complex writing. Understand that your followers admire” you”, for your love of Dramas as I do. I hope you keep on writing, as I will follow your sites. I thank you again
At least, I know now what to expected in the raw version. Even though I won’t understand the language.
    Conjie

  11. thanks a lot :’

  12. The phone? The phone? How could the writer possibly give us 14, 15 well-crafted episodes, then end with this?!!

    • “A chance encounter that started with a gap in time… that meeting already ended a year ago. Our reunion now is not because of a mysterious talisman written by a monk, but because of a string of memories that belongs only to us both. Now begins our second encounter. Now, I am his lifesaver. The price to pay? All he has to do is stay forever by my side.” – narration from the drama

FORGET THE PHONE. IT’S ABOUT THE MEMORIES – INTERWOVEN MEMORIES THAT BELONG ONLY TO BOTH OF THEM.

Please, don’t give too much attention to the PHONE because it was not the PHONE per se, but the strings of EVENTS, DECISIONS and ELEMENTS, the CAUSE and EFFECT, the INTERTWINED-MEMORIES that BD and HJ shared and the ETERNAL-LOVE they have for each other that created the gap in time and triggered the time-leap transportation.

A gap in time was created when their memories intertwine – both of them remembering each other at the same time but in different times. HJ’s desire to protect BD from harm and BD’s will to be with HJ was channelled through the phone – creating a link between the past and present.

The decision to die. The event of dying. The element of phone, letter, tie, talisman, car and rain. The interwoven memories. The eternal love. These are the cause. The gap in time. The link between past and present. The transcending of time and space. These are the effect. The beginning of their everlasting reunion is the ultimate conclusion.

  13. wkwkwkwk i don’t think anyone will bother about the flawless. But I have faith in the writers. Until now, she has no big flawless, but to end the story like that. I believe she have the answer. Maybe it will be answered later on the special episode? I guess….more or less, This episode is daebak!!

  14. Thank you for the recap! And for all the previous ones, and all the extras! You’ve really helped non-speakers of Korean like me enjoy this drama (i am not including the last episode). Bless you!

  15. You guys are that disappointing? The writer went with our wishes…. I believe because the king is truly a friend made it possible that in the future ppl will know about QIH’s man… because of that and becaus HJ loved BD so much… when she read the letter… she knew it was for her. Her love was so big (so was his) that the only thing connecting them together started to work…. even if they were era’s apart… they found each other again… ❤

  16. I don’t think this is a bad ending. Utlimately we wanted them to be together and the writer gave us this. Yes, it was a strech with the phone but how is the talismen better than a phone. Time travel shouldn’t exit. In their world it does and the bridge are created based on their emotions. I really believe everything restarted when HJ remmebered KBD. Once she remembered the connection was re-established. I am happy!

  17. it’s not about them getting back together or not (i wished that sincerely at the end of ep 15) but how the writer did it… I’m seriously questioning who the heck actually wrote the script for ep 16… if it was Song either the writer was friggin high on something, or she’s bipolar (i know this is harsh of me to say this but it just DOESN’T MAKE SENSE) like how did it come to this? did she implode after running out of ideas? because she went too far in terms of pushing the story to realistic tragedy in the previous episode but she loves her characters too much not to bring them back together so she wrote this in desperation without a thought? or did someone kidnap her, write this as though she did, and passed it on to the director? I’m really really really mad…

    • Hartofseeker, i think you are the same person i keep agreeing with when i read the comments. Totally agree with you. The ending destroyed the beautiful 10 episodes i loved of the show. 11-12 was…. 13-14 was a little better.. 15 was very much AWESOME…. then 16… DARN.

      • I think i just feel utterly heartbroken… snifflesniffle* it’ll take a while for the shock to wear off

redpinkboxes, thank you for being a good partner in this journey it’s good to know i’m not alone =x

        • Hartofseeker, Redpinkboxes,
I agree with the both of you. I did want them together, but not in some absurd, deus ex machina type way. And the writer did so well in the previous episodes, I was hoping it would all come together, but . . . Sigh. Yes, the that the talisman enables time-travel is fantastical, so we suspend disbelief. But the story itself, the relationships, the plot, was plausible, if not realistic, so to have a phone suddenly thrown in the mix, jars. But maybe if I sleep on it I will be more accepting of it in the morning.

  18. Horrible ending? Did I miss something? I totally loved it.

  19. Yes, the ending felt flat (stated in comments by someone in here) but I don’t think it was horrible… as long as they’re together!

  20. And why shouldn’t it make sense. The love of YW made the first talisman work and the love of HJ made the second (Phone) work. It always was just a tool for love. For me it totally sense. And do not try to think logical since then he never would have come to 2012.

  21. No problem you all, i had a fun time with this show too. Just the ending didn’t work for me, though it worked for some of you.

  22. I thought that ending was a resolute one, but open enough. My best friend was saying “maybe they can have a season two?”

  23. Redpinkboxes, I know this is pretty late, but what does the name ‘Boong-do’ mean? Baidu had Hee-jin translated as ‘xiaobai’ i.e. ‘Little White’, is that correct?

  24. i’m confused: if this is the ending, what’s the beginning of episode #1?

also, jokingly, did boong do take a pic of the talisman while it was still yellow with the phone? (the powers of the talisman transfers from one who loved him in past to the “new-and-improved” smartphone by the one who loves him now(?))

    i’m jsut glad it’s a happy ending

  25. I’m speechless and not in a good way. The ending wasted all those 15 wonderful episodes! Seriously, this drama would have been great BUT that ludicrous finale screwed its chances of becoming one. I’m all thankful that they did end up together but not this way. There should have been a more plausible way of how they could be together without being this ridiculous.

  26. I SUPER LOVED IT!

  27. LETS JUST SAY im glad it wasnt a rooftop prince ending which is worse! I think u guys might be missing a few pointers here like how he tried to kill himself yet again sincerely this time to keep his word true for the King and not attain power for his clan. Because their love was true even after the talisman was gone, HeeJin still remembered in spite of it being burned and not to mention being totally in sync with him wherever and whenever. Maybe it was a final test for them to see if it was truly love they shared when Boong do made his wish when burning the talisman. the cp would have served the catalyst for the magic to happen…all i can say is ILL TAKE this ending rather than the rooftop prince ending..PWE! OMG! Hope to hear a good response from YIN fr JHW hahahaha. woke up 3am in the morning to watch and news broke out had me hyperventillating…BTW, when they were kissing and BD happened to see his letter, what had him piqued??

  28. Upon watching the Ending of the Drama, the talisman was to save his life. Since the other lady lost her life, that ended the talisman magic and her love for him. The talisman served it’s purpose! On the other side it’s the phone that connected them together. It became the magical for Boong and her love for him, because she gave it him for emergency. He didn’t know that until he tried to take his own life..and she in return started to remember! The cause and effect of Boong getting caught w/ his letter and making it an historical finding is what triggered her memories of their love. I like the ending, better the Rooftop Prince!

  29. FOR THOSE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PHONE-PLOT-TIME-LEAP. FORGET THE PHONE. IT’S ABOUT THE MEMORIES – THE INTERWOVEN MEMORIES THAT BELONG ONLY TO BOTH OF THEM.

“A chance encounter that started with a gap in time… that meeting already ended a year ago. Our reunion now is not because of a mysterious talisman written by a monk, but because of a string of memories that belongs only to us both. Now begins our second encounter. Now, I am his lifesaver.
